What part is this on Crown Boiler JBF-EID Electronic Intermittent Ignition making the ignition fail

That’s a section of the heat exchanger, but unless it’s leaking there, it’s not causing an ignition failure.
It looks like your pilot may be burning too rich and causing a soot buildup.
Is the boiler on natural or LP gas?

You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.-1 -
It's natural gas. What's happening is that black stuff is falling on ignitor and causes the boiler to constantly refire until I clean it again. It s happening every other day now, that it has to be cleaned.

Also, it is a intermittent ignition.

Look at the pilot burner (#7 on the diagram) when it is burning make sure that it is not YELLOW. it should be blue.
If it is burning YELLOW then the burner is defective and may need to be replaced. I am not sure if this is your exact burner assembly without the actual Crown model and Serial Number

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
