Buderus gb142-24 boiler temp issue

edited January 29 in THE MAIN WALL

I have a 13 year old Buderus gb142-24 boiler that needs service. I have the boiler temp set to 180, but the display shows the temp only going up to 144 degrees, will not go higher. I have tried to get it serviced but the techs do not seems to know the buderus system. Any recommendations on the temp issue.

Is there an AM10 outdoor reset control connected to the boiler?

With the boiler running at that temp does it heat your home to the temp you want it at.?

Yes does have AM10 connected to boiler and I have the Thermostats set at 68 degrees and it is able to reach that temp

So if you are heating to the Thermostat set point and the boiler is working why do you wish to boost the water temp to 180F?

the Am10 is a weather responsive control. It is making the boiler run more efficient.

The curve is set to match the cold outside to how much heat the boiler runs up to.

The AM10 is regulating the boiler water temperature. If it’s heating the house sufficiently, then it’s doing its job and should be left alone.

I think the Buderus Gb142 is a good boiler, esp. if it is installed well and "mates" with the building. I have one that I "adopted" and it has been going 17 yrs. now. I have kept the heat x-changer clean and replaced a fan and some venturi parts and of course ignition parts—all or which are still available. It hums along heating indirect DHW and large radiant slabs using outdoor reset.

Does the temperature climb for a domestic hot water demand?

Yes the temp climbs appropriately for DHW demand.
