Navien combi-boiler motorized threeway valve replacement
Hi. My NCB-240 was not keeping up with the recent cold snap and I had a plumber come out from a major local plumbing company after the house temperature dropped below 50 after a few days of successively getting colder and colder. He diagnosed that the threeway valve had failed and needed to be replaced, and the bill ended up being >$2100 with the small fee for showing up and 10.5% local Seattle sales tax. He was at the house for 2+ hours replacing the valve and doing some other maintenance. The OEM valve itself is $51 on Amazon before tax at the below link. I imagine plumbing may be a bit more expensive in Seattle than a lot of other markets, but I'm surprised the labor was so much for swapping out a valve even if it's tricky to access. I'm curious what the price for replacing the valve is elsewhere?

You paid for a lot more than just a valve. You paid for his experience to be able to diagnose the problem and source the correct part. More than likely they bought the correct part form a source a lot more reliable than Amazon and certainly paid a higher price for the part. Be thankful that they fixed it on the first try.
