Amerec Ai30 control board not lighting, machine not working
I have an amerec ai30 steam boiler that has barely been used. I am required by my state to add a high-temp alarm and cut off that will turn off the boiler if it goes above a certain temperature. I did not yet connect a device, but had asked an electrician to try. He had connected wired to the room 1 thermostat input on the electric control panel, but did not complete the job. After he did this, the boiler would not turn on at all. I spoke with Amerec tech support and after checking voltage and trouble shooting, they told me that the electric board was fried, and needed to be replaced. Now for the fun part…I replaced the entire electrical control board and the machine still won’t function. The electrical control board will not light up (except for the one green light at the very bottom of the board labeled 12V). There is no thermostat or shut off device connected. There is current going to the machine, and current going to the board as well as thru the wire marked “R” on the board. The LWCO light will not light. The red light next to the first rocker switch turns on when it is switched on, but the boiler does not start. Tech support is baffled by this. Can anyone help?

Hello thebbrg,
Well if the job is not completed why would expect it to work correctly ? If the alarm gadget is connected to the boiler system it would not surprise me if it is disabling the boiler. What is the make and model of this alarm gadget ?
"machine" is the boiler or the alarm gadget or something else ?

Presumably you — and your electrician — have access to the manual:
Microsoft Word - 4211-1631 Boiler Install 208-240V 03-28-2022
I can see a number of interesting ways to mess up the installation…
I do not see, in the manual, any light which is labelled "12V", so I am at a bit of loss as the that. You mention that you do have the red light next to the manual run switch, which suggests that you do have the correct 120 volts to the board, and that the fuse is good.

What circuit did the electrician interrupt ? What is with the room light what is it for ? Why is it connected to the boiler ?
