That's a vapor system. What does the plate at the top say? What valves and return connections do the radiators have?

It's a damper regulator. That's either a Broomell or VECO system. Post some pics of some original radiator shutoff valves and return fittings and we can tell you which.

Low pressure gauge that uses a water column to indicate the operating pressure. You likely have a vapor system.

Don't know but it is measuring pressure in ounces. Says so on the side. Is it permanently hooked to the system??

Does look like a damper regulator from a coal fired boiler. Any interesting pulleys on the overhead?

Looks like a Broomell. I believe there was a big float ball (maybe still) inside that operated the boiler damper via chain and pulley to control the coal fire and thus the pressure.

If the system's still intact, the boiler pressure is now regulated with an electric vaporstat switch.

I thought this was set up as a steam boiler. It is a broomell. What’s the difference between a vapor vs steam heating system????? Thanks everyone

Vapor is ultra low pressure steam heating. Usually the radiators aren't even trapped in a conventional way, but rather have water seals. Running these over a few ounces causes problems.

Trying to squeeze the best out of a Weil-McLain JB-5 running a 1912 1 pipe system.
