main air vent steam Rattling/super loud
My main steam air vent in the basement is rattling and is super loud. You can hear it throughout the whole house whenever it’s on. Do you guys think it’s time for it to be replaced or is there too much pressure in the system? It goes off probably 2 or 3 times a day and the whistling noise lasts about 1-2mins. Also it does look pretty old/rusty to me

It is hard for us to know if there’s too much pressure in the system since you didn’t tell us how much pressure is in your system.
If the vent seems like it’s acting weird, try a MoM #1, it’s an inexpensive experiment.
If you need more venting than that one gives, go with a Gorton #2
