    I guess I know why it's this way now. The after photo is the same as the before photo. She didn't want to spend money to change it.

    I've never seen a radiator like this before. the only things i recognize are the valve and vent. What is going on here?

    The vital information American-Standard left off the instructions in 1952:

    Back of a Sunrad Radiator: ( Face this side toward wall )

    Front of Sunrad Radiator: ( Face this side away from wall )

    They should have labeled the casting. So silly of them.

    LongBeach Ed, Thank you for the clarification. Am owner of a 1928 hot water heated house with a couple of SunRads installed. I never have seen the backs of the rads. Thought this was some kinda different style rad that I had not seen before. Now I get it!

    whoever moved it didn't want to swap the tapings for the vent and for the valve
