Leaking on Top- air Valve?
Hi Folks-
I have a Burnham- it's at least 30 years old, and has been working great.
On the top is an L shaped pipe leading nowhere, attached to, I think, an air valve.
It is now leaking and I am awaiting service.
Before he comes I wanted to know of anyone can explain what may be going on.
I know 30 years is pushing the limit, but I also know these older models are fabulous and reliable. If I replace it, can you provide guidance on size? My home is single level 1150 SF.
Any assistance would be appreciated. MEF

If the actual Cast Iron boiler is not leaking, then keep it. You may get 10 to 20 more years out of it. all you need to do is fix the part that is leaking,
You would not just get a new car if the gas cap did not seal anymore, Would you? Just get a new gas cap!

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
