Joining a Wood and Gas Furnace
After a house fire, a new wood furnace and a gas furnace (York) have been installed. The HVAC tech is having difficulty getting the wood furnace to turn on the gas furnace blower. The old system was pretty straight forward. When the fan limit switch in the wood furnace reached temperature, it activated the gas furnace fan. The fan on the old gas furnace was single speed. The installer's problem seems to stem from the multi speed blower on the new furnace and/or its complex controls. Can anyone help in finding some assistance for the installer.

Could be an issue. The board in the gas furnace controls the blower motor speed so when that is not being used you could have an issue trying to run the fan from the wood furnace. I don't see how you can control an ECM motor from two points.
You may have to go with a straight 1 speed or two speed motor to do this.
I would call the blower motor MFG and ask them.
