I have a Beckett burner afg with a pure pro trio boiler and a tjernlund power vent was in stalled year ago .noticed I can smell exhaust most of time when burner shuts off. With old system power vent used to run after burner shuts off . Now power vent shuts off with burner and blower in burner runs short time. Can you extend blower run time.

The blower in the boiler should run for a post purge; you don't want it shutting off right away. However, the power vent MUST run at least as long as the burner's blower, and preferably another 30 seconds to a minute.

You may need a off time delay relay on the power vent.

You need a good oil tech to set it up .. There should be no oil smell .. Your running a power venter . It has to be correct . You don't want to half **** your system ..

There was an error rendering this rich post.

What is the model number of the Tjurndlund power venter? it should be a SS1 if the oil burner is 1.50 GPH or less. What is the oil burner primary control on your beckett burner? GeniSys or some othere electronic model, of a old 3 wire like the R8184G?

You may need to upgrade the primary control to make the burner post purge for 5 minutes after each burner cycle

If you let me know what controlsyou have I can help you.

If you have the HS1 power venter system, that was not the best choice for you

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Trio boilers come in several sizes, is the model number of your boiler PROP3 thru PROP6 or is it a PROP7 or 8?

That will make a difference. If you can't tell what boiler you have, then a picture of the rating plate that has the BTU capacity and a picture of th oil burner so I can see the primary control will be just as good. Also a pic of the Thurndlund and the control will help.
