Reconnecting to an unused spare zone

I took out an Amtrol Boilermate from my boiler system but now want to reinstall it. After I redo the copper and rewire the t-stat to the zone valve … do I just make sure my make-up water valve is open and then open the supply and return valves? Or do I need to bleed some air somewhere? It’s a short run of only 20 ft or so total.

Unless your piping is unusually simple, with just one high point and no near level spots and a vent at the high point, you should really purge it — run enough water through it fast enough (a garden hose from your domestic supply is great) until you see no bubbles in the outflow at all.
