Hydronic heating

I have a lochinvar solution CWN199PM.

The boiler will continuously run even when external thermostat is disconnected from the unit.
Why??

Good question. Warm start aquastat? Demand from and indirect hot water heater? Short in the wiring? Odd relay wiring? Gremlins?

We need to know more about how your system is set up and controlled.

Oh, it is a water tube atmospheric. I'm going to go with set up as warm start.

It might be some attempt at condensation protection, water tube boilers really don't like flue gas condensation from low return water temp.

That and it takes a while to heat up 20 gallons of cold water like in older boilers. Mom's house was set up with warm start on her Crane Sunnyday.

I don't believe its still running or you would trip a high limit, relief valve. what you hear is the pump running. my guess is they wired it directly to 120 volts or the circulator relay is defective. remove the j-box cover and follow the wires

a water tube boiler has a lot less water content.
