Compression fitting on an oil line

I'm guessing it is not a good idea but just in case…
I have to change the oil line from the oil tank filter to the pump. Currently, it is 1/4" flexible copper pipe most of it in the bottom corner of the wall, covered in cement. I will be using 3/8" pipe and it is a run of about 30'. Can I use compression fittings? This is just to keep the furnace going for another year and then it will be replaced by a heat pump.
Thanks

What @Jamie Hall says above. Flare it. Compression fittings can have a tendency to leak… that is allow air into the line. Not a fun thing to have to correct.

Make a good flare. Always hold back with an opposing wrench. KILL the flare nut....Mad Dog
