Is this a solution or waste of time for a couch blocking a hot water radiator?

Living room couch is less than a foot away from the primary hot water radiator for the room. The couch is a sectional that is sized in a way that would prevent any real adjustment due to size.

I purchased a reflective heating insulation (Reflectix) that I've sized to the width of the radiator and Velcro'd to the back of the couch.

Will this accomplish anything realistically?

If not, what options do I have to better get that heat from behind the couch? Are there small, low-profile fans that exist that are used for moving radiant heat?

Despite their name radiators move heat more by convection than radiation. You need to find a way to get more air moving.

in my house that’s not a problem until the February NE winds start to blow. Those few days I pull the couch out 6 - 10”. Once the ambient gets back to double digits it gets slid back.

I do the exact same thing in my living room. My couch is right in front of a long section of cast iron baseboard.
