New Main Vent - Gorton #2 or Barnes and Jones Big Mouth?

I have two mains, both 2" pipe and about 40-50ft long each. About 8 years ago neither had a vent at the end but I managed to install a Barnes and Jones Big Mouth at the end of one and it has worked great.

I'm going to be tackling the other main vent soon. The end isn't easily accessed so I've put off the project for some time now but I'm ready to get it done.

8 years ago the Big Mouth was all the rage but I don't see them talked about so much anymore. Are they still the best or is the Gorton #2 the go-to now? Thanks!

I don't know if the Big Mouth was ever "the best", but it does seem to be the one with the greatest capacity. I didn't like the way mine failed to close/took too long to close, resulting in water loss, but people swear by them.

How long are your mains, and what pipe size? This determines what we will suggest.

I'd say if you are happy with your current Big Mouth, I'd get another one to match the vent rate, although in practice I don't think the difference would be noticeable in the living space vs a Gorton #2
