Wireless thermostat
Hi. Customer has short in thermostat wiring. Was away for a few days and came back to find house at higher then 100 degrees. Boiler was possibility running for a good few days. Customer does not want to run new wires and would prefer a wireless thermostat instead. In the past, I have used the Honeywell Redlink focus pro and I have been happy with them. Pretty much 100% success rate. Just curious about what else is out there. Thanks.

I've used the Honeywell YTH6320R1001 kits (discarded the return air sensor) for a few jobs now. Yes, "flawless".
I last used three of them - successfully - in a large house where the owner doubted they would work because of the distance the signal had to travel through plaster walls. Honeywell claims their system will work within 6,500 square feet and a 2,400 foot line of sight.
Honeywell uses 900 MHz, which goes through walls far better than 2.4 GHz WiFi does (and orders of magnitude better than 5.8 GHz WiFi.)
8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Not exactly wireless, but some of the Carrier Edge thermostats can separate the face from the base & operate over just two wires connecting the parts.
But RedLINK is the way to go. 8000 if you want fancy, 6000 if you want simple but programmable, and IIRC there's even a 5000 RedLINK kit if you really want non-programmable.
