    Final Update 9/3/2024

Robert from Oswald Supply made himself available and we discussed my issue. Thank you Robert. I was able to return the coil directly to Peerless. After measuring and sending photos, Peerless concluded that my boiler was too old for this coil and something changed along the manufacturing process and that's why it didn't fit. The coil I had matched all the others that Peerless had on hand, so it wasn't a returned item or stretched coil.

I used my old coil and was able to clean/sand and spray paint (High temp black gloss) the front plate and reinstall it with a new gasket, bolts with anti seize. I torqued the bolts between 20-25 ft/lbs in a star pattern.

Boiler fired up with no issues or leaks. Hopefully I'll get a good 15+ years out of this. All new copper piping, brass fittings, shut off valves, etc. She's no prom Queen but a lot better from what I had.

    Thank you to all.

You were just trying to fix the leaking gasket? No need to replace the coil for that.

Probably should re-torque the bolts in 6 months and in another 6 months as the gasket compresses. If that was done to the original it likely would never have leaked.

I dunno. I thought the WBV block hasn't changed. The only changed was the swing out door. Glad it worked out for you.

Yes, it was only the gasket, but just in case I said to myself "change the whole thing and don't worry about it for a long time."

You got me, that's what Peerless said. They even emailed me the AutoCAD drawings with all the measurements.

Here's the exact text from them:

My engineering department was looking into this. We compared it to the coils we have in stock and they’re all looking like the one you received. You can definitely return the coil and we will accept it.

We’re assuming it’s not working correctly because of the age of the unit and modifications were most likely done to the coil over the years.
