Looking for recommendation for Ductless mini split for AC

Getting quotes for Ductless mini splits for Whole House cooling. Mini split main purpose would be for cooling house in summer months. I have hot water boiler for Heating. Is there any benefit not getting the heating option with mini splits does it reduce the cost. I could use it to heat and take chill off in basement man cave during winter months. What Mini split systems are dependable?

I don’t believe you can get minis except in heat pump.

Definitely can get cooling only, but they are basically the same price. If you can make use of even a tiny bit of heat, it's a no brainer.

It will not reduce your cost to go cooling only.

Equipment is a small portion of install cost, and changing from AC to heat pump is a tiny cost of a small cost. Don’t sweat it.

Mitsubishi is usually considered the top of the heap. I used to use Fujitsu with good results, but some do not like them.

I like my Fujitsu units. 5 heads 2 condensers. Custom install, 1 runs through a closet to avoid the line set on the front of the house, another in a wall where I removed sheetrock then covered over after.

Only 1 issue so far with a defective condenser fan under warranty. Able to diagnose myself with flashing LED code so fan motor was on truck when replaced.

Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, LG, and Daikin are the current top brands through trained dealers that offer good warranty, and solid companies that will have parts available. I'm not sure if any of these brands have "cooling only" models currently but at the very least you don't want the super low temp heating options, which do cost more (mitsubishi hyper heat, LG RED, not sure what fuji and daikin call theirs)
