HVAC duct cleaning best options
I have a big set of nearly 40 year old fiberglass and some aluminum ductwork running central AC and hydrocoil, the ducts run largely through a basement crawl space with one ceiling high return and a couple of vents on second floor. These ducts are certainly very dirty, dusty, lots of dog hair, etc. I have heard differing opinions on duct cleaning, some saying it most likely will damage ductwork and questioning integrity of outfits offering duct cleaning services.
Wondering if anyone has advice for best approach to duct cleaning? thanks

A reliable contractor can do the job without damage, and it does need to be done from time to time. Once a year is perhaps too often, depending on pets. Once every five years? Probably not often enough.
The trick is reliable. There are many less than reliable people who advertise such services. But as in so many things, you usually get what you pay for. The company which services your system (annually, of course) may provide the service, or know who is good in your area.
