Tekmar 256 and remote thermostat?
Hi everyone,
Wrapping my head around the Tekmar 256 boiler control for my Hydronic heating system with fin-tube convectors.
Currently the 256 uses the outdoor reset sensor as well as a sensor that is "taped" onto the supply pipe near the boiler.
This is a 4-family, 2 story building. Is there any benefit to haveing another sensor somewhere else in the building? Or a sensor on the return?
Thank you!

thank you! Yes, one zone. The 256 turns on/off the boiler. ExternaL Outdoor reset and pipe sensor.
Do you think I would need another type of boiler control with inputs for a indoor sensor?

Is the heat always on with no indoor t-stat. You could always add a t-stat located in the mech room with a remote indoor sensor. Tekmar make several models that can do that.

think of the wall thermostat as a high limit temperature device.
A thermostat could mount anywhere in the building as long as the temperature sensor is located in the room that you want temperature control, or limit.
A well tuned ODR could keep the boiler and call for heat running almost continuously. If everything is sized and dialed in properly.

Thank you, Hot Rod. Are there any resources or tips of your own to optimize the outdoor reset?
