Wall unit staying at 78 in heat mode

GE 1yr old ptac wall unit will only go up to 78 in heat mode and then they lights go out on control panel but continue to run. What is the problem and how to fix please

    My guess is the control board is defective and the thig-a-ma-gig (that is a technical term) that is supposed to shut it off when the room reaches the thermostat setting ain't working right. or would it be it ain't working wrongly?

    There would be a model number on that GE unit. with that number, I could look up the I/O manual and the trouble shooting manual to help answer your query.

    How high do you want it to go? Did you stock up on deodorant?
    I'm assuming it's a HP so that's about max.
