Hello Folks- Wondering if anyone would know why boiler trips when oil tank goes below Half. I would need to bleed it to restart.

Don't know what kind of set up you have I am assuming and indoor tank. If the oil level in the tank is above the burner pump you have gravity feed. If the oil level is below the pump you have a suction lift feed.

With suction lift every fitting has to be absolutely airtight or it will suck in a little air and the pump will lose it's prime.

Does the oil line come off the top of the tank? If so maybe the line isn't into the tank deep enough. So, at 1/2 at tank the line stars sucking air not oil. I've seen this quite a few times.

After you bleed it, it runs normally?
