Heater for satellite receiver dish?

Does anyone have any experience or recommendation for a snow melt heater for my satellite TV receiver dish?

The combination of heavy snow and very low temperatures have resulted in no TV service for us due to a snow covered receiver dish.

In the past, I have been able to get a ladder out to get up to the rain gutter and brush the snow off the dish and restore service. This time conditions are too much for me to handle.

Wonder if heat tape like you use on piping or in gutters would work.

Others have made your suggestion. I'm afraid heat tape might be either not effective or interfere with reception.
I have found online several devices that address this specific problem. Just curious of anyone has experience dealing with this problem, and what has worked best.

Just use a vinyl cover on the outside of the rim to over the amp. The snow will slide off.

Heat tape but not in tape form :joy:

Anything you attach to the back won't affect your reception...60hz from the heat tape or a resistor, or a light bulb or whatever isn't going to interfere
