Riser venting

I live in a 6 floor Co-Op building that has risers in the bathroom and kitchen. They had angle Gorton D vents on them and a plumber came in today and installed a 1/8 x 3/4 elbow with a MoM #1 straight main vent on both.
Aside from the downgrade in quality, I’m curious, is there any difference in venting or function by installing it this way? From what I understand Gorton D, and MoM/Gorton # 1 have the same venting capacity so I’m trying to wrap my head around it.

Also, is there any possible test/way to find out if a main feeds a radiator? I’m trying to find out if that bathroom riser feeds the radiator in my bedroom which is on the other side of that wall.

What makes you think there's a downgrade in quality? I've seen a lot of anecdotes about MoM vs Gorton, but no data so far. D and #1 of MoM and Gorton are the same size.

If the pipe gets hot above the vent, you can be pretty sure there is a vent above it, likely on a radiator. What floor are you on?

If you want a little more heat in that bathroom, remove the rope.

What does valve on lower right side of door control?

Just the crimped construction and plastic float. I’ve also had one leaking from the crimp joint but aside from that, I am on the top floor. The rise ends in my apartment.

That valve in the picture is a water shutoff valve.

Why don't you like the plastic float? It doesn't rust.

The rise ends in your apartment, you mean your apartment is on the top floor? Then I think it's strange that the pipe goes through the ceiling.
