The case of the cold radiator, this weeks case

This case is probably an easy one. The room was colder than the other. When we arrived, the radiator was covered in a steel radiator cover. Pulling the cover away from the wall, we found the radiator was indeed warm. The heat just didnt get into the room. This video will talk about how different enclosures affect the heat output of a radiator. See you on Friday at 6am

Maybe add some holes in the bottom

partially plug the grid in such a way that there is an opening at the bottom and another at the top to create a chimney effect.0

That expanded metal is way too restrictive. The wood molding should be cut up from the floor to give somewhere for air to enter.
Air outlets on top will provide more heat than in the front.0 -
Greetings all You were all right. The heat output from a radiator is 60% convection and 40% radiation. This enclosure just about eliminated the convection from the radiator and the screening severely cut the radiation so the room was cold. The owner decided to cut holes in the top to allow convection and the room was warm
