COMMERCIAL STEAM BOILER GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

Hello Heating HeIp,
I am semi retired and have a small commercial Boiler service business with sales of about 250,000 annually , Due to a paperwork malfunction my current carrier is dropping my policy ( Paperwork was not filed on time for audit) ( No claims )
My current agent is having a hard time locating another carrier - it seems that no one wants steam boilers
Any advice or direction to a carrier would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for your help
Mike G.

I went through this with a kinda similar situation. Seems like the ins co. was looking for a reason to drop you. It takes a little while to actually 'drop' you, with proper noticing. I complained my way up the chain to keep my insurance active (renew), which bought me some time to find a new company, and I got it at a better rate.
A local/state/national trade association should be able to help you with some recommendations.
I wouldn't totally blame the agent. I literally called 10 'recommended' companies. Only 5 called back. And out of that 5, only 2 quoted me, and I picked one of them. I'm not that small of a company, I had no loss history for over 20 years, no driving incidents, not even a ticket.
If there's a trade show in your area, there's usually a bunch of insurance people there too.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

What state are you in? Insurance companies gradually abandon places where courts have gone rogue. Lawyers love situations where B&M insurance fights with service company's insurance with owner's insurance.....

    thank you for the reply
I am in NY , Long Island
not blaming the agent - apparently they are having trouble locating a carrier that will accept a company that works on steam boilers , I was with BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY and the agent is having trouble locating another carrier that will take a company that works on steam boilers. apparently steam boiler is a dirty word to most insurance companies.
