Radiant Heating Between Joists and structural Beam

Hello,

I am about to start a construction project and I will put radiant’s hoses between the open joists.

My issue is that I will have structural beams between the joists at 2 places.

How do you deal with that, as I think I won’t be able to notch them? Running under the beam?

Thank You!

What material are the joists and beams? Are they sized to be flush on top and bottom? I like setting the beam 1 1/2" lower than the joists and installing small 2x blocks on top of the beams for the hangers to nail to. The tubing can then slide over the top of the beam.

The Beam will be LVL and the joists pine open joists. Yes they supposed to be flush. I may ask if they are able to leave a space over the beam.

Get the hole charge for the LVL you are using, they are fairly generous with  holes 1-1/2 or less.  Two 1/2” pex fit through a 1-1/2” hole
