Convector air vent replacement

Hello, i purchased some new Gorton air vents to replace old vents on a one pipe steam fin radiator. The old vents had a 1/4" -> 1/8" bushing and a 1/8" vent.
Since the vent hole is already 1/4", is it correct to put some teflon on the new 1/4" vents and install them directly into the convector, or is a bushing required along with the smaller 1/8" air vents?
Thanks
