Is it ok to replace this ZURN WILKINS ZW1017XL into new little different ZURN WILKINS 34-ZW1017XLC o

Hi guys, I have 3/4" PEX and my Mixing Valve says ZURN WILKINS ZW1017XL, but can I install ZURN WILKINS 34-ZW1017XLC on my BOSCH Tank less Water Heater. And I am attaching Photos on my System & I am attaching Photos of a Mixing Valve which I am planing to buy, please have a look in Photos.

The reason I am changing Mixing valve, because it is build lot of Calcium inside it & it is Block

The 1017 is the type of valve, used at the heater, so that is the correct valve.
The other numbers and letters tell you the connection type and size. 34 is 3/4, 12 is 1/2.

Here is the spec sheet showing what the numbers indicate.

Once I install this Mixing Valve.

--Is this Mixing Valve by default set to 50% Cold water & 50% Hot water or do I have to do some adjustment according to my requirement like I need 40% Cold water & 60% Hot water releasing from Mixing Valve to maintain all Sink & Bathtub having Hot water.

--I have to adjust to mix 60% Hot water & 40% cold water by removing green cap. So while adjusting water mixing, do I have to Turn Off Cold & Hot water Shut Off Valves OFF or I can leave it ON while adjusting Water Mixing adjustment doing on Mixing valve.

The valve  is constantly reading and adjusting the mix ratio to reach the setpoint that you adjust it ti

so as the cold or hot input varies in temperature the valve will adjust by the heat sensor inside

I don’t believe they are  preset at the factory

In the sink hot water is not coming, only hot water coming in showers. If I adjust Hot water up to 60% & Cold water up to 40%, I mean to say when water MIXING, it has to be MIX 60% Hot water & 40% Cold water, that way I want to adjust vavle, so that it has to reach Hot water to all the Sinks.

I mean to say if 60% Hot water mix with 40% Cold water then in the Sink we get hot Water, otherwise we are getting cold water in Sinks.
That is why I want to release More Hot water & Less Cold water then both mix together, then after this sink get Hot water.

Run a faucet and set the temperature for no higher then 110 -120*F

The valve will make the decision on how much hot and cold mixes. Set it for the temperature you want, not a %, as pecmsg described

i there, My Tankless Water Heater set temperature is 120*F, so when I adjust Mixing Valve by opening Tap, can I just adjust Mixing Valve until I get hot water in Tap.

Because while adjusting Mixing Valve I rotate Knob ANTI-CLOCK wise all the circles rotates, now only one circle rotation is left towards Hot Knob, then I am getting Hot water in 3rd floor Tap in Town House, so is this ok only one Anti-Clock Rotation is left towards Hot Side Knob, there after it will not rotate the knob at all.

I mean if I rotate one more circle that is last circle, after this it will not Rotate that is last.

So is this normal the way Mixing Valve giving Hot water on last end, or i have to put Half Circles on Hot side & Half circles on Cold side, please make me correct....Thanks

Should be a screwdriver slot under the green plastic cap. The manual that came with it should have adjusting directions.

No there is no screw driver slot, we need OPEN END WRENCH to rotate this NUT. And I am getting Hot water on 3rf floor Sink Tap.
So I want to know is this normal all the way I keep on rotate rotate circle by circle, and finally only one circle left. So is this Ok.

And I increase Temp on my Tankless Water Heater later up to 124*F in future or not, because the NUT I rotate all circles, now only one circle felt that is last end, after this it will not rotate any more.

please make me correct is this ok all what i did.

What temperature do you want the fixture? 120f a common setting, but the water heater  will need to be around 140 for the valve to mix 120 accurately

    Clockwise usually increases temperatures

Here is the Photo shows on Valve with ARROW DIRECTION clock wise spin is COLD & ANTI-CLOCK wise spin is HOT. And my Hot water Tank currently set to 120*F, and I am getting Hot water every where on this setting of this valve.

Only the thing I am worry, tomorrow or one day in future Hot water Tank start giving problem, in this case I must need to increase Temp on Hot Water Tank up to 140*F until get Hot water.

So on this valve setting which I did currently every thing working fine, when I have problem in future if I increase Temp up to 140*F (is this valve accept this Temp which I increase on Hot water Tank or it will failed on that day this Mixing Valve).

Please make me correct, because I have to spin clock wise now a days only, because one day it will get SCALED/CALCIUM build on it, and on that day it is not possible to change any valve setting at all. So let me know do I have to set the valve now it self on cold side HALF spin & Hot side HALF spin to balance both side.

If I leave in HALF & HALF both side then what cause this problem in future, because currently it is spin all the way towards ANTI-CLOCK wise HOT side.

If the valve scales from hard water it is not the  valves fault and you will need  to clean it occasionally

Spin it from on position to the other every few months may help keep it from scaling

Run any hot faucet and adjust the valve to the temperature you want

If you have a Bosch tankless why do you have a mixing valve? Just set the heater to 120 or your desired temperature

Builder install this Mixing Valve on BOSCH Machine all over this neighbor hood, that means all BOSCH machines having this Mixing valve in this area.

And if I spin every few months on its position & bringing back to his same position in every few months, in this way from where it is spinning may be there is chances of leak start, because of getting lose connection in that NUT.

Less chance of leaking if you move the valve

If you wait a year it nay be stuck and damage the seal by forcing it

Thank you so much, if it is less chances then I will try in few months to spin that NUT. And yes you are right if I wait for one year it will scaled on it and may be not spin at that time, because the old one which I remove that is impossible to spin at all, that NUT all hexagonal corners are broken, there after none WRENCHES fix inside it.
