No ignition in burner.

New over head oil line for code. Ran well for a month, only had to bleed it twice, no issue. Now motor will not start, when ignition button is pushed. Tried twice. I cracked line when motor was not on and now all oil is back in tank. Ugh. How do I get oil back to burner. Originally it bled when line was at floor level now it is connected about a foot off floor. And how do I make pump work without burner running? To get oil back to burner?

You don't. The motor drives the fuel pump.
And if you had to bleed it twice, there are issues.
Are you sure it's a bad motor and not a seized fuel pump?

Start by finding out why the motor won't start and fixing that.

Then try to find and fix the leaks in the overhead line which caused you to have to bleed the thing twice in a month.

Then start to think about how to reprime the line...

I'm wondering if the "Ignition Button" is the reset button on the primary control. This sounds like the Ignition Button may be used more often that it is supposed to be.

I wonder if @DannII understands that the reset button on the primary control never needs to be pressed unless there is a problem. OR that most oil burners operate for years without the homeowner never needing to press that button? Someone that knows about oil heat controls should be over there looking at that system.

Possible reasons for the motor not running
    1. defective motor
    2. no power to a good motor
    3. motor is connected to a stuck fuel pump.
    4. primary control is defective
that is 4 off the top of my head, there are many many more.

Before you can figure out how to prime the burner, you need to find out why the motor is not operating

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I really dislike overhead oil lines, sloppy flares and Tiger loops.

We should be using 21 ft lengths of 3/8" iron pipe, unions and elbows. Then bury it in concrete. The only way the dead men used to install a fuel line!

Primary could be in hard lock out too! I still have my baseball and bat from Carlin when they came out with the "3 strikes and you're out" campaign

Did you try and press the reset button on the back of the motor?
