Nauseous Smell

Have Buderus Propane 142 boiler, 17 years old. Radiant house floor heat. It originally wouldn’t start. Thermostat OK. Cleaned heat exchanger fins. Reassembled it. Still wouldn’t ignite, igniter glows. I then ordered a gas valve with fan from ebay. Installed it and it ignited. But now the smell in the house is harsh. The vent vapors outside are even worse. It heats the house OK. We bought 2 carbon monoxide sensors and mounted one in the utility room where the boiler is mounted and one in the adjacent laundry room. They both alarmed shortly after boiler fired off.
Any suggestions?

Hi @WCKjr123 , Don't fire up the boiler again! It's clearly unsafe. You need to get a technician in who has a combustion analyzer. Let that person adjust and clean things up. Propane can soot up quickly and mess with the draft and combustion. Others here will have more to say, but you might check "find a contractor" on this site and see if anyone is close to you.

Lock 🔐 it out..Power off. Gas valve off. Its DONE!!! You need a new boiler. Whatever it costs...its cheaper than a Funeral! Mad Dog 🐕2
