Was looking though one of my old books on my shelf in my office and came across this from January of 1994.

That was probably the year I met him and Erin at the Davis and Warshow trade show.
My father gave me the day off for any classes I wanted to attend back then and so I took full advantage.

I miss those seminars and classes.... I'd have to dig pretty deep to find my certificates. Glad to see you have them and proudly display them.

I went to about 3, maybe 4. The last one I remember was at a Holliday Inn. It was either Holyoke, MA or Springfield, MA there only 10 miles apart. Can't remember if it was hot water or steam.I think that one was during Dans "crew cut" days.

My first Exposure to Dan was on a Supply house Counter..B & G Newsletter..Counterpoint? 1986?? 1987 I worked as Union plumbing Apprentice in a Great Shop in the Sub Basement of Rockefeller Center. G.F. Sheridan had a brand new issue of a New Magazine called Plumbing & Mechanical...intrigued, I found the tear out postcards in the middle, made up a Company name and started getting my own issues at out Fambly home....for FREE.. These writers were superstars to me...Any Seminar or training that was in the NorthEast...I was going...IBR Heatloss Training with the great trainer Dale ??? He was like Will Rodgers to me.  The first time, seeing Dan in person was probably at  the Plainview LI Holiday Inn,  late 1980s-Early 90s..He had just started doing Seminars full time..so whenever that was..

I think I've been to The Lost Art of Steam atleast 7 or 8 times, and All the other ones..I met so many great people, made lifelong friends...Dan Holohan and his literary world was a Tidal wave...A Juggernaut..an Army on the March...I gladly & enthusiastically "fell in" with The Troops...Dan & TLM were a potent force to be reckoned with. Unlike most "famous" people, The Holohans were grounded, down to earth, warm, encouraging...Even the Elves were wonderful ladies..I loved talking to them on the phone or stopping in to buy books or drop off Antiquities. Furthermore, what other industry Giant answered his own phone and didn't have 3 layers of Gatekeepers?  Would pay for Kegs of Cold 🥶 Beer 🍺 in that open Atrium in King of Prussia Penna? And then sit and drink 🍸 with you???  Dan was always "accessible" ...Who does that???  I know of no one...

Dan brought us all together to learn, share, prosper...to keep ya flying straight when you needed it...like a "Dutch Uncle," he always referred to...I already loved plumbing & heating, but Dan's fantastic 👏 writing
Pumped me up like my Older Brother Bart or a fellow HS Football teammate could before a Kickoff in the lockerroom...He got us "riled" up to go out there and figure out the stuff everyone else had run away from. He armed us with great, illustrative books on all subjects of heating, business and life.  They are my "Bibles" till this day.  I've said it before,and I'll say it again...I know of no other person in ANY industry that has done MORE to educate the Common, working man (Women too!)  rank & file folks of his industry than Dan Holohan......Mad Dog 🐕
