I was given a 3 year old fiberglass tank to replace an old steel tank. It has a 2 inch outlet. How do I reduce to 3/8

It looks like you have half a union so unless you have the other half you need to remove the union then use a bushing or reducer to get to 3/8". Could do it in brass or iron or galvanized or use a copper adapter and copper sweat fittings. Could do it in PVC too if it is just cold water.
What are you trying to do with it?0 -
I am using it to replace a steel tank at my camp. No insurance involved. Line is already in place so don't want to change anything but the tank. Do you know where I can purchase this bushing or reducer?0

You're using this for heating oil? It's a bad idea in general and a real bad idea if this is exposed to freezing temperatures. Any bushing of that size will most likely cause water to pull at the low point, right in front of the bushing, freezing. And if you're unlucky, bursting.
You should be concerned about leaking. There was an error rendering this rich post.

So should I come out the top?0

No. You should get the proper tank and have it installed to code.stevespurr said:So should I come out the top?
