Hi everyone. I have the Navien 250 I'm a new home owner, I have a natural gas heater, attached are pictures of my boiler... I have baseboard radiators and I need to heat my house and when I turn the thermostat on, I hear the click sound but nothing is happening.. The radiators don't even turn on. What should I do? And also what valves should I have on? I feel like the problem to solve all of this is that the valve that's needed for the radiators isn't on. The thermostat is working how it's supposed to, but there's no heat going to the radiators. Thanks for helping me out. And also, occasssionally there's water that comes out of those pipes at the bottom which is why there's a bucket there.. I think that's water pressure issue, but that's okay. I looked up god knows how many videos on youtube, the manual for my boiler, thermostat and all of that stuff trying to figure it out myself and gave it the good ol college try. Thank you in advance.

The previous owner of your home did not show you how to operate the heating system?????????

Please provide us with more photos of your plumbing.

The hot water flow to the circulator appears to be shut off. The red handled valve should be open to allow the hot water from the boiler to flow to the circulator and the 2 zones that heat your home.

You need to call in a professional, preferably one familiar with Navieen.

Check "find a contactor" on this site.

    I see what Leone sees,
    2nd and last picture,
the longer red handle under the boiler, all the way to the left, needs to be parrallel to the pipe direction, it's closed now, and that your heat flow,
correct that and get back to us,

in the display, it should cycle thru water pressure,
    what do you see?

    any error messages?

can you determine if the zone valves' circulator is running ?

are the batteries fresh in the thermostats?
    please don't say NEST

cycle the power off for a minute, switch it back on,

my thermostat is a Braeburn and yes they are. I don't see any error messages. o I just turn on the heat now? Or should I wait

that valve that was closed prevented circulation thru the boiler,
the boiler protected itself and did not run,

you can wait longer, but, you will get colder, and further from having to make an emergency call to a local service provider if you do wait,
    #wise_assing,

I would try turning it on

Yes, turn it on, and or turn up your thermostats.

are the little caps loose on the 2 brass air vents?
there's one vent on the top left corner of the boiler,
and the second is down and to the left on that balck air scoop in the piping run,
    are those caps loose?

any air come from them if they were tight, and you loosened them ?

No other gas appliances will have an effect on your gas boiler unless you have a gas delivery problem. You don't -

if cycling the power switch does not "fix" this,
then it may be time to call for service,

  • Should I power cycle the boiler? Because the pipe itself is cold... not like the other one where they're warm

the left most pipe with the valve you opened,
is this getting hot? or is it cold?
if the boiler is working at all, that pipe should be warming up,
the #2 left pipe is your domestic hot, I assume this one is hot,

FYI, that boiler will only do domestic, or heating , at any one time,
noone is taking a long hot shower right now, correct?

They were. But now they're not. They just finished taking a shower. So i should try it now? Since it shows both SH and PHW to be off

it won't hurt to cycle power,
but I think if you have hot domestic, a power cycle is not your answer,
there are other parts, valves and a circulator, inside that boiler,
It may be time to call service,
    where are you located?

the boiler circ is controlled internally by the boiler,
    (call service)
the system circ is controlled by that green taco box, left of the boiler,
if your thermostats are on, and calling for heat, there should be more lights lit under that green one on top,
how many lights lit on the green taco?

any chance those thermostats are new, like this past summer?

taco says one zone calling for heat, and its valve is open,

any noise, or warmth felt from the circulator? is it working?
try switching that speed control to low, to medium, and back to high,
    any noise? whirring?

and was that left pipe warm under the boiler?
cuz if not, then this circ working or not won't have heat to push around the house,

really time to call a service tech.

Did your home inspector run the heating system to ensure it was working before you bought it? If we know it was working 3 months ago, that could be helpful.

Update: I reset the boiler, unplugged it for 2-3 minutes and then plugged it back in and now the heat is working. Water is going to the pipe that was cold and circulating around the house
