NYC Boiler Room - Smoke Alarm that will cut off boiler

Had to do a whole new Boiler room filing for a property in NYC and 1 of the requirements is to have the carbon / smoke alarm tied into the boiler so that it cuts the power to the boiler if the alarm is triggered. I cant seem to find the proper equipment needed.

I found this accessory, but it seems it only send a signal to an external device and not necessarily kill the power .

I don't know specifically but if the alarm triggered you would have to use a relay with normally closed contacts to shut down the boiler.

You would have to find out from the voltage supplied from the carbon/smoke detector from the device mfg. to select a relay.

This unit has a relay which closes upon alert.
I’d use this output to control the primary coil of the relay which controls power to the boiler.

when I was tuning my brother's furnace, we had a smoke event. The nest co/smoke detector in the basement communicated with his nest thermostat and shut the furnace off. Probably not acceptable in a commercial environment but pretty cool for residential.

If you're in NYC, call Pronto Gas Heating Supplies (3 locations) and ask Tito if he's got any CO/smoke alarms with the interlock relay in stock. He probably does. That's where I buy mine from time to time.
