Any recommendations for signal cable to extend temp sensors?

I was a little shocked when I opened my VSI control and the sensors (outdoor and boiler) had about a foot of cable each. What are you guys using to extend them? 18/2 stat cable and Wagos? Is there something more suited for this?

16/2 or 18/2. No real need for shielded unless it is an electrical noisy environment. Temp sensors are just thermistors.

I generally run an 18/whatever stranded shielded for any kind of sensor. Not because it generally needs the shield, but because it helps separate it in the mind of our installers so they leave it alone & call me, instead of doing it themselves. <sigh>
