Any recommendations for signal cable to extend temp sensors?

I was a little shocked when I opened my VSI control and the sensors (outdoor and boiler) had about a foot of cable each. What are you guys using to extend them? 18/2 stat cable and Wagos? Is there something more suited for this?

16/2 or 18/2. No real need for shielded unless it is an electrical noisy environment. Temp sensors are just thermistors.Serving Northern Maine HVAC & Controls. I burn wood, it smells good!0
