Beckett oil burner starts runs a few seconds, then shuts down.

I have a Peerless Boiler with a Beckett burner and an Everhot 4 or 5 gallon copper hot water tank. When the hot water tank empties, like for a bath, the furnace will run for 4-5 minutes to heat the new water in the tank, then shut down.

My HVAC technician I consider top notch but recently after his cleaning the furnace, it starts up randomly, runs for 15 to 50 seconds or so and shuts down fairly frequently. He has adjusted several things but it is still happening. I'm afraid I'm wasting oil with the furnace coming on and then shutting right down. This can happen every few minutes at times. I'm the homeowner but it's starting to wear on our nerves thinking it is an unnecessary operation. Anybody think of something I should have him check.....again? Thanks

Something happened. Look at both aquastats and the wiring to the water heater aquastat.
    Is there a zone panel?

I might add that I had exactly that same sort of symptom a few years back on a big oil burner -- except that on the second try it would always light off properly. Looked at everything, but in the end wound up replacing the control. Never did figure out what the problem really was.

Maybe he just didn't bleed it right, or didn't put something back correctly, or now created a loose wire situation.
