Many of the larger supply houses had their "own" merchandise that was actually made by others. We all know the name "Crane", for example, but not too many folks know their bathroom fixtures were actually made by Trenton Potteries Co, in NJ.

There was a large supply house company that operated in the Baltimore and Richmond, VA areas called The James Robertson Co. I don't think they survived the Great (1929) Depression. They did the same thing as Crane, in that their fixtures were made first by Trenton Potteries and later by Keystone Pottery, also of Trenton.

Weil-McLain got its start as a supply house. The Weil brothers started the business, and acquired the J.H. McLain company which made boilers and radiators. They sold bathroom fixtures under the Weil-McLain name too.

A more recent example are the Force boilers, which are actually made by U.S. Boiler for Ferguson as their house brand.

So I'm wondering, did Benoist do this too? If so, who actually made those furnasties?
