R7284 Honeywell has no display

I have an oil burner furnace. We have no hot water. I went to the basement to check the furnace and saw that the r7284 Honeywell has no display. Anybody know what would cause this? Is it safe to assume that the r7284 Honeywell broke down & needed to be replaced? I don't see why there won't be any power going to the unit. The circuit breaker seems to be okay. Would low oil result on the display going off? Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

no display... first question is power. Don't assume. Check.

also, no need to post in multiple forum areas, we see three versions of the same question on the Wall.

Is there a low water cut off? Do you have an electric meter? Is posting multiple threads a hobby or an addiction?

How do I check for power on R7284 Honeywell. Do I place the multimeter probes on the T & T3 in front of the unit? I also see that there's a jumper connecting the T & T3.

Do you have a non-contact voltage tester? Start by following your wiring all the way from the circuit breakers to the control, if so (note: if your wiring is metal sheathed -- BX -- this may not work) to see how far power gets.

I might add... is there a shutoff switch? Are there, perhaps, two? And are you sure it or they are on? It's happened...

@Jamie Hall , @MikeAmann you guys are spot on. I was checking the unit for a power using a multimeter & it says no power. As I was watching some more youtube videos, they mentioned this too. We had guests in the house last night & they were playing on the basement. When I checked the switch it was indeed turned off halfway. The boiler started as soon as I turned the switch on. Thank you.
