    Sweden is hydro and nukes ... they have a gas grid in the south as they connect to the grid from Denmark.

    Sweden has had to use what they have -- with lots of hydro they have developed an ever expanding heat pump system to produce hot water for district heating. Oil and wood are also used for these systems ... oil is also used in more remote areas.

    I spend many summers on Oland island and my great aunts used wood for heat and cooking ... as they aged there was more electric use for heating water etc. Fuel is expensive
