   I'm reaching out for this communities opinions on gas fire place inserts / fake logs; for ambiance, not space heating.
    Knowing that every flame produces CO, what is the preferred install - fireplace flue damper open or closed?  Is make up air needed? 
    Thoughts, opinions, & experiences appreciated.
