Viessmann Vitorond return temps

The Viessmann vitorond oil fired boiler has an option to use a return port with a special Injection nozzle that is supposed to allow lower return water temperatures.  As per tech support, they stated that the boiler can handle any return temps you throw at it without risking condensation damage to the cast iron.  Anyone have any experience with this?

If that is what they state it should be fine. Check the manual for any low temperature limitations.

@EBEBRATT-Ed. The manual doesn’t say what temps it can handle but you have to buy an injector nozzle that pipes the return back into the upper side of the boiler as apposed to the bottom of the boiler.  Also you need to use their vitotronic control to do this, as appossed to an aquastat with regular operation.   It sounds too good to be true to have a cast iron boiler handle cold return temps without ruining the cast iron.  I don’t want to test this on a customers new boiler installation lol

Nice to see a boiler with 3-1/2" of insulation!

@hot_rod. They’re fairly light weight for a triple pass boiler as well.
