When my gas boiler lights up, it causes a big bang.

When my gas boiler lights up, it causes a decent sized bang that seems to have gotten larger over time. I have a motion light near the boiler in my basement and it activates it. I setup a ring camera to capture the event. I put it on YouTube to share. Doing some research, there could be a few reasons. Full transparency, I've had this house since August of 2016 and it's not been cleaned once in that time.

It has a S8610U Continuous Retry Intermittent Pilot. This was just replaced a month ago. This behavior started before it was replaced however.

This is NOT something to put on the "back burner"  (pun intended).  You need a fuel/combustion pro in therr right away. I would shut it off until he comes.  Delayed ignition is very dangerous mad dog 🐕

Shut it down! Whatever's failing to cause the problem isn't going to heal up, it's only going to get worse. The only question is, will you be the one to shut it off, or will the fire department.

Thanks all. So I turned the heat to "off" on my thermostat. With the assumption that this would shut it down. I did this around 7:15 am. I had to leave the house to run errands. When I came home at 8:50, I surprisingly heard the boiler running. I checked the ring camera I have aimed at it still, and it recording the boiler lightening up (loudly) again. I've since turned the power off to the boiler to make sure it's fully shutdown.

I live in Baltimore, so while running the errands, I called and left a Voicemail with All Steamed Up ( @Steamhead ) who I happened to see is in my area while visiting this website.

I would shut off the power AND the gas supply to the boiler.

I'm looking at all the flammable stuff on camera. I think you dodged a bullet here. Is this because the whole base of the burner is just open, basically looking like a gas cooking range underneath? We have an oil burner and it's all enclosed.

@Steamhead - Here are some videos of the boiler in action. The first two, you can hear a much louder sound while it's running. The far left two burners have a noticeable flame at the end as well. The "smooth" version was ~ 10 mins after I recorded the "loud" versions. It went out went out and started back up in between.
