Looking for an accurate and reliable Steam pressure gauge

Hi guys,

I realize swapping the existing pressure gauge on my steam boiler is a big no no, so I am looking to swap it temporarily just to take some readings to see what kind of pressure by boiler is building.

I realize I can actually add the 2nd gauge permanently with some Tees, nipples and elbows but really don't want to do this so am looking to just put on a gauge to measure ounces and then remove and put back by stock one.

IS there a reliable and accurate gauge that people seem to use and like? Correct me if I am mistaken but 16 ounces is = to 1 PSI?

Do the plumbing. It’s extremely easy.

Look on eBay for a gently used or NOS Magnahelic, they come in a wide range of scale. Put a valve in front of it

Add the tee and put a shut off on the low-pressure gauge. There is no reason to be swapping back and forth. Open the shutoff when you want to read the pressure.
