How Do You Pronounce Radiator?
Comments
-
It’s ray-dee-aytor. You wouldn’t call an RF a “rad-dee-ent” floor. The sun “ray-dee-ates” heat.
For some reason, around the Baltimore- Philly area, they mis-pronounce it with a short A.Bob Boan
You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.0 -

Joseph Nason, who put steam heat in the White House, is the person who came up with the name radiator. I suppose because it radiates. But he was from Boston, so feel free to filter it through his regional accent.
Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Could it be that RAD-iator comes from this accent?
