White Rodgers 1E30-910

I bought a 1976 house that has the White Rodgers thermostat and baseboard heating. Nothing is working, no heat. I want to replace the baseboards with newer ones and get a smart thermostat that works with baseboards. I can't find out which one I can wire in my house. It has 2 wires on top that are twisted together and the other 2 (white & Red) are connected to the thermostat. Help please with some guidance. Thank you

You first need to find out why the heat isn't working and get that fixed.

Next, make sure the two unused wires at the thermostats are sound all the way back to the boiler room. WiFi thermostats can be connected using two wires, but 3 is better.

    Here's a wiring example:

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

Not so fast… @mbootz by “baseboard” do you mean electric, hot water or steam baseboard? Do you have a boiler?
