Boiler running wild

I had a water heater leak a few nights ago and the water got about 3 inches high, although it didn't seem to hit the boiler at the moment, today i noticed that the boiler runs haywire, with the thermostat off the boiler runs and when i flip the thermostat on and off it still runs. On top of this it's been running for the past 1.5 hours at which point i shut it down. I checked behind the thermostat to see if the wires were touching and they weren't, Am i facing some possible water damage?

If the controls in the boiler got wet they need to be replaced.0
