Does anyone have or can recommend a fuel cost comparison spreadsheet that can compare annual heating costs of modulating gas boilers, electric boilers depending on local fuel costs?

BTU per unit X cost per unit X Efficiency = total efficiency

    Oil- 140k per gallon @ $5/gal @ 80% = 22,400 BTU per dollar
    LP- 91k per gallon @ $2.5/gal @ 90% = 32,760 BTU per dollar
    NG- 100k per therm @ $.70/therm @ 90% = 128,571 BTU per dollar
    Electric resistance- 3412 per kW @ $.10/kW @ 100% = 34,120 BTU per dollar

These are my approximate local rates. Obviously this differs by location and day, but should give an idea on how to calculate. Everybody has this gun against electric, but in a lot of smaller load applications, it makes way more financial sense than anything else considering the upfront cost.

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

@Paul Pollets I believe there is one put out by the government which shows the costs of different types of systems and different fuels
