Photos of one pipe steam column radiators converted from steam to hot water

Does anyone have pictures of a one-pipe column type (sections connected only at bottom) steam radiator that has been converted to hot water?

I am interested to see what what the second return pipe attachment would look like as well as the air vent that would have to be added to the top of each section.

I've seen this picture:

from this post, but I don't understand how it works. Shouldn't all the holes be connected together some how, maybe with a length of pipe?

Those radiators are "steam only" radiators that can not be converted to be used with water. I knew a man many years ago that did exactly what you inquired about and could not understand why the rads would not get hot enough to heat the room.
