in Oil Heating
just looked at the price of oil and it’s around £550 for 500l. So we are switching off our heating (we only have oil). But we need to heat water. Any ideas how much it would be to have the immersion heater on for half an hour in the morning and again in the evening? It’s a large house but as I said, the heating would be off . The alternative would be to use the oil boiler just for water, for the same times each day.

You'd have to look at your electric rates, and it depends a lot on how much water you intend to heat. Obviously. Do you have an on-demand heater for your shower? Or are you trying to heat a whole tank of water?Br. Jamie, osb

I assume you are referring to a tankless coil in the boiler for DHW.
If so, then just turn the thermostat OFF (or way down) but the boiler will still operate for DHW needs.0
